Environment:
Definition:
The word “environment” means the place of survive. The term that describes the place where living and non living things survive is called environment.
Components of environment:
Environment consists of five major components which are as follows;
• Atmosphere
• Lithosphere
• Hydrosphere
Biosphere:
Biosphere is the region of surface where living and non living organisms survive. Biosphere consists of two main components which are as follows;
• Biotic components:
The components of biosphere consists of living organisms is called biotic components. Examples of biotic components are plant, animals, bacteria, fungi and algae etc.
• Abiotic components:
The components of biosphere consists of non living things is called abiotic components. Examples of abiotic components are light, air, temperature and land etc.
Importance of environment:
• Environment provides the habitats to organisms for survive.
• Environment provides resources for production in which renewable and non renewable resources are included.
• Environment composes of sun, air land and soil which are necessary for life.
• Environment provides food and other needs of life to living things.
Protection of environment:
We cannot survive without environment. So we should protect the environment. We can protect the environment by following methods;
• We should conserve water.
• Promote afforestation
• Avoid from deforestation
• Follow the methods of use, reuse and recycle.
• Using reusable bags.
• Saving natural resources.
• Reduce pollution.
• Minimum use of energy.
• Minimize the wastage of food.
• Minimize the use of vehicles.

Environment is very important for us. No one can ignore the importance of environment. Life is not possible without environment. Therefore we should protect the environment. We should follow the methods discuss in this article to protect the environment. Government should develop the polices for the protection of environment.
